Choose the age-based section that is right for your son or ward, identify a Scout Group, and talk to its Leader about registration, meeting days and times, subscription fees and uniform cost.
Having your son or ward participate in our programme is simple. First, determine which section he will belong to, identify a Scout Group for him to join, and sign him up with the Scout Group.

There are four age-based sections of our Youth Programme. The right section for your son or ward is determined by his age.

Ages 4–7 years

Ages 7–11 years

Ages 11–16 years

Ages 16–25 years
Your first option is the Scout Group located at your son or ward’s school, church or community. If there isn’t one, or the meeting times are not suitable, email headquarters@barbadosscouts.org with his age, where he lives and where he goes to school, and we will help you find the right Scout Group for him.

Talk to the Leader of the Scout Group you want your son or ward to join. The Leader will provide the information necessary for him to join: the registration form, meeting days and times, subscription fees and uniform cost.
There is an annual national registration fee of $5.00, paid when your son or ward registers to join the Barbados Boy Scouts Association. In addition, the Scout Group has a subscription fee paid weekly, monthly or by the term.
After your son or ward officially joins the Scout Group, usually after attending three or four meetings, the Leader will give you a Uniform List to take to the Scout Shop. The cost of the uniform depends on the section he joins. The Association currently has a Uniform Grant providing a 65% discount to all new members purchasing their first uniform.
Group locations and meeting times will be listed on the youth section pages. District pages carry the list of group names.
